Why I Created RateTheSupervisor.com

Have you ever felt mistreated by a supervisor? Have you experienced toxic work environments where leadership failed to foster respect and fairness? Too often, companies overlook these issues, leaving employees feeling powerless and unheard.

I’ve personally faced these challenges multiple times. Frustrated by the lack of accountability, I decided to take action. That’s why as a web developer and programmer, I created RateTheSupervisor.com—a platform where employees can share their experiences, provide honest feedback about their supervisors, and help others make informed decisions about their workplaces.

Not all supervisors are bad. Some are true leaders—mentors who support, inspire, and create a positive work culture. These supervisors deserve recognition, and this website is also a place to highlight those who make a difference.

This is my project, born from my experiences and a belief that workplaces can be better. Whether you want to warn others about a toxic boss or praise someone who truly leads with integrity, your voice matters here.

Josh Kennedy does not care about GetScale employees. He cares more about his executive buddies. For example, in 2022, Josh paid the Fancey brothers of the tech startup Pollen around $3 million for their house which happened to cover the payroll Pollen needed to meet before the company went under. Fun fact: Cody talks a lot when he’s drunk.

Charming and agreeable to those above, and abusive, divisive, and destructive to those below. Spreads rumors, lies, and positions people against each other. Lacks self-awareness. Emotionally stunted growth at about age 7. Creates chaos and crisis to be the “hero,” and a black hole of wasted time and resources. Entitled and enabled to freely abuse others. Cannot move past black and white thinking. Cannot plan or follow through with anything. Creates a culture of fear and “us” vs “them.” Badmouths others. Selective memory. Hurts others relentlessly to counterbalance deep insecurity and self-hate

"Strict Obedience Required"

First thing Josh tells everyone is that he left his last job because of micromanagement. He then proceeds to forcibly ram bad and ignorant decisions down people’s throats resulting in terrible outcomes that he blames on you. If ANYONE above or adjacent to him says ANYTHING negative about someone under him, the person above or adjacent to him is 100% unquestionably correct. Just like Chris, asking ANY benign question may result in their insecurity being triggered and is taken as confrontation. Anyone that Chris is targeting, Josh will target, and manage out because Chris is terrified to.

I've worked under this supervisor for some time and observed significant challenges affecting team morale and productivity. The tendency to micromanage leads to unclear expectations and unnecessary oversight, creating stress and frustration. Additionally, the supervisor's communication style can be condescending and unconstructive, hindering growth. I support the concerns raised by a former colleague, and believe a more empathetic, clear, and supportive leadership approach would benefit the team and PG&E.

"Highly Unfair and Micromanaging Supervision – An Incredibly Toxic Work Environment"

I had a deeply negative experience working under Lily Gharib at PG&E. From the start, it was clear that she had no interest in supporting her employees or fostering a collaborative environment. Instead, her leadership was characterized by extreme micromanagement, constant overreach, and unfair treatment. Despite consistently meeting expectations and having a solid track record, Lily unfairly placed me on a PIP, and PG&E ignored my evidence. HR and Ethics & Compliance sided with her, leading me to realize how toxic the work environment was. Left due to her unjust treatment.
